Writer's Thought: So why should you visit these waterfalls? Well, besides the opportunity to capture stunning photos for your Instagram feed, these waterfalls provide a chance to connect with nature and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The sound of cascading water, the fresh air, and the lush green surroundings create a sense of peace and serenity that is hard to find elsewhere. Additionally, visiting these waterfalls allows you to explore different parts of Bali and discover its hidden treasures. Best time to visit is during dry season from April to September.
Some of these waterfalls might be further away from the City but you can still reach them by cars or motorcycles. I personally often booked my car and driver from Traveloka platform, I think they offered best price for day trip. If you are interested in joining a group trip, you can try looking here. Don't forget to bring change of clothes and towels as you might plan to swim or get wet from the water splashing.

Tegenungan Waterfall
Tegenungan Waterfall is a hidden gem located in the village of Tegenungan, just a short drive from Ubud. This picturesque waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. There's a short walk down to the falls, and the lush setting with a shallow bathing area makes this a pleasant outing. There is a new day club called Omma right besides the waterfall, you can pay the entry fee of IDR 250,000 to hang at the club and enjoy the view of the waterfalls there but you still have the option to go down with direct access from the club. I will recommend you to come early as the falls can get very crowded. This is the easiest falls to reach among others I listed here. I rode motorcycle to come here and the walk down is around 5-10 minutes.

Location: Gianyar Regency
Entry Fee: IDR 20.000 - USD 1.5
Distance: 1KM (Approx. 15 mins)
Gitgit Waterfall
Located in the northern part of Bali, Gitgit Waterfall is one of the most famous waterfalls on the island. With its towering height and crystal-clear water, it's no wonder why it attracts visitors from all over the world. The paved path leading to the waterfall is lined with vibrant flora, adding to the beauty of the surroundings. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the magical moments at Gitgit Waterfall. The walk to the falls from the parking lot is around 20 minutes and I personally love the gate right before the falls. It is easy to operate drone there too. I would recommend that you bundle this falls with Aling-aling as they are relatively close to one another. Do this one first then go to Aling2 as you might want to swim or try to slide at Aling2.
Location: Singaraja
Entry Fee: IDR 20.000 - USD 1.5
Distance: 850m (Approx. 18 mins)
Aling-Aling Waterfall
Aling-Aling Waterfall is a must-visit destination for adrenaline junkies and adventure seekers. If you only want to sightsee, then IDR 20,000 is the fee but to do the slides and cliff jump you have to use a guide and purchase more expensive package depending on the length of the trek. This waterfall offers various activities, including cliff jumping and sliding down natural rock slides. There are few different heights offered for the jump. I think this waterfall is family friendly as I saw many kids playing with smaller slides. They also let you use the life jackets for cliff jumping, its included with the entrance fee. The stunning twin falls and the surrounding greenery make it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike. The walk is about an hour from parking lot (2km). Like I mentioned before, it is best to bundle this one with Gitgit as they are close to each other so make sure you have sufficient time to explore both.
Important note: There are actually 4 waterfalls total that you get to see at this site, Aling-aling is the biggest one

Sekumpul Waterfall
If you're up for an adventure, make your way to Sekumpul Waterfall, which is considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bali. Sekumpul means a collection of cascades and there are actually 7 streams there. It is located in the northern region of the island, reaching Sekumpul Waterfall requires a trek through the lush jungle and crossing a river. The effort is worth it, as you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of multiple cascades surrounded by towering cliffs. You should take a picture at the top before you go down the track for the wide view of the falls. You can choose different tracks that come with different fees but medium track is the one most people choose and I think it was sufficient and it costs IDR 125,000.
Location: Buleleng Regency
Entry Fee: IDR 30.000 - USD 2 (View Only), IDR 125.000 (medium trek), IDR 200.000 (long trek)
Trekking Distance: 2.1km (Approx. 46 mins)
Banyumala Waterfall
Banyumala Waterfall is a a nice waterfall close to Munduk area. The hike from the parking lot is around 15 minutes and relatively easy to reach. Just watch your steps as stairs can get slippery. This falls has a nice dip pool to swim or just to chill. I really enjoyed my time here just relaxing and being in nature. Banyumala waterfall is close to Banyu Wana Amertha Falls so you can head there after this one.
Location: Badung Regency
Entry Fee: IDR 30.000 - USD 2
Trekking Distance: 2km (Approx. 15-20 mins)
Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall
Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall, hidden within Bali's lush interior, provides a multi-waterfall adventure. With a single entry ticket, you can explore not just one, but up to four stunning waterfalls cascading through the vibrant jungle. The trails are easy to navigate, making it a perfect choice for families and those seeking a more relaxed nature experience. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of this less-crowded gem and capture breathtaking photos of Bali's hidden waterfalls. I think many people still do not know much about these waterfalls, I came not so early and most of the time its just me at each waterfall so you can freely take pictures.
Location: Buleleng Regency
Entry Fee: IDR 20.000 - USD 1.5
Trekking Distance: 0.6km (Approx. 10 mins)
Kanto Lampo Waterfall
Kanto Lampo Waterfall, located in Bali's lush Gianyar region around 30 minutes from Ubud, is an extraordinary natural wonder. Its unique, cascading waters flow over tiered rock formations, creating a mesmerizing and photogenic scene. The waterfall is 5 minutes away from the parking lot. Kanto Lampo is not very tall but it offers a tranquil escape from the crowds, providing a chance to immerse yourself in Bali's natural beauty. Whether you're a nature lover, photographer, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Kanto Lampo Waterfall is a must visit however its not the type of waterfall you want to swim in due to the mud. I would suggest to wear water shoes as the place is rocky and you might want to climb some rocks to get good shot. Waterproof case for your phone will also come in handy. Don't be surprised with locals that will offer to take your pictures and direct your poses in exchange of tips. You also might have to wait in line to get nice pictures that is free of distractions.
Location: Gianyar Regency
Entry Fee: IDR 20.000 - USD 1.5

Tukad Cepung Waterfall
Tukad Cepung is relatively different than other waterfalls because it is hidden and not as tall as others. It is located approximately 40 minutes from Ubud and you have to trek for 20-30 minutes to get to the falls. This place has become a new hot spot for tourist due to the unique sunrays that shine straight through the top of the falls creating natural beams across the canyon like rock formations. You can play with the water here as the water is pretty calm. Try to go during sunny day to get best pictures time, unfortunately it was raining when I went there so the picture did not come up great.
